With my years of teaching and guiding at a heli-ski operation, I have found what holds people back from enjoying the whole heli-skiing experience is they aren’t prepared for it. If you’re a strong intermediate to advance skiers that wants to try heli-skiing but were never sure, or for the seasoned heli-skier, this trip is for you.

In Let’s Ski Canada’s true fashion of Big Snow, Cool Towns, and Small Crowds. This trip starts in one of Canada’s hidden gems Apex Mountain Resort for 4 nights and 4 days of a heli-ski workshop then up to Northern British Columbia to heli-ski at Skieena Heli-skiing.

Apex Mountain Resort is a full service destination resort located in the heart of the Okanagan Valley, features a perfect mix between large amounts of snow and low humidity, making for light champagne powder snow. Apex has awesome terrain to help us get ready for your Heli-skiing trip. Apex receives about 600 cm (approximately 20 feet) of dry "Okanagan" powder each season. Your heli-skiing is in the heart of Northern British Columbia, were we find Skeena heli-skiing. With 8,250 km/2 of remote wilderness and untouched amazing Canadian powder, with countless bowls and tree skiing and only 10 skiers a week this makes Skeena one of Canada’s premiere heliskiing areas. If you’re an intermediate skier or better this trip is for you.

Apex Mountain Resort
While at Apex we will Kick Back & Relax at Saddleback Lodge. This Apex Mountain Resort's award winning lodge is conveniently nestled in the Apex village, a snowball’s throw to 9 different restaurants that offer everything from coffee shops to fine dining. The famous Gunbarrel Saloon and the 3:30 Grill will look after all our après skiing needs.

Skeena Bear Claw Lodge
The exclusive Bear Claw Lodge at Skeena Heli-skiing is in the remote wilderness of Canada’s North. Very experienced heli skiers have assured Skeena they have the highest level of service and the best heli-ski lodge on the planet! Views that inspire and incredible hosts serving sumptuous meals are all part of the recipe for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Complete your day with a hot tub and a massage from our registered massage therapists or perhaps an aperitif from one of our well-appointed lounges. If you still need to connect to the outside world they have Internet and phone access via a satellite link. Skeena Heli-skiing has no more than 10 clients per week.

Heli-Ski Packages

These trips have a Sunday arrival at Apex Mountain. One of Let’s Ski Canada guides will meat you at the Kelowna airport, the Kelowna airport has direct flights from Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver and Seattle. Apex alpine resort is only 90 minutes away.

Sunday: Let’s Ski Canada pick-up from the Kelowna and check into Saddleback Lodge.
Monday to Thursday: Skiing with morning clinics. Thursday we ski most of the day then travel to Kelowna airport for the flight to Vancouver over night at the Fairmont Hotel at the airport.
Friday: Travel to Skeena
Saturday to Thursday: Heli-skiing
Friday: Travel home via Vancouver
