Japan Ski Adventure

Big Snow, Small Crowds, and Cool towns

Last year I was very fortunate to ski in Niseko Japan. I found some of the best skiing of my life and got to experience an amazing culture. Now I would like to invite you to join a ski trip to Japan to have your own amazing adventure. This trip will suit any level of skier, from the person that is looking for the deep snow to the person that loves to cruise very long fall line runs. This ski tour is fully guided by our very experienced staff.

Niseko is located on Japans north island of Hokkaido; it’s famous for all its deep fluffy soft snow, relaxed atmosphere and small crowds. Niseko has 4 resorts accessible on one lift ticket all on one large mountain range. Niseko starts at sea level and rises 1200 meters (3900 feet).

We are staying in the town of Hirafu at the Prince Hirafutei Hotel this is one of the largest hotels in the area. This hotel has a fantastic location in the upper village on the main street and you can ski right to a lift from the hotel, and a short walk to all the restaurants and shops.

Hints about travelling in Japan

· Fly into either Osaka or Tokyo then up to Sapporo. From Osaka 1.5 hours transfer from Tokyo just over 2 hours. Not many airlines fly direct into Sapporo. Airports signs are in Japanese and English and most airport staff can speak English.
· Bring cash, as credit cards and travelers cheques are generally not accepted at the ski areas.
· Eating and drinking at the ski resorts and in the village was very inexpensive approximately $10 for lunch $15 dollars for dinner. Wine and Draft in pubs around $4 to $5 dollars
· Western food can be found but not generally available
· The local people are exceptionally friendly and go out of their way to help
· To help with Jet Lag buy Melatonin from either you local drug store or your local health food store, I use a candy called Jet Lag. It really works.
